My work lives between two worlds, the warmth and colour of my Egyptian upbringing, and the quieter, cooler light of the north of England where I now live and paint.

Trained in both fine art and interior design, I understand how a painting commands a wall. I don't paint to decorate. I paint to change how a room feels the moment you walk into it

Each canvas is built slowly, layering pigment and memory until the surface begins to breathe.

A limited palette. A blank canvas. Something unspoken that needs to exist.

What comes out is always a surprise, and always, somehow, mine. Sometimes figures appear that I never intended to paint. I only see them when the work is done.
